Poets Out Loud is a collective of poets, writers and spoken-word artists from the Tweed region, NSW. Founded in 2018 on the belief that poetry is for everyone, we provide a safe and inclusive platform for writers to share and develop their work. Poets Out Loud is convened by Sarah Temporal, a performance poet and poetry educator of 17 years experience.

In January 2019, Sarah initiated an open mic poetry night in partnership with the M-Arts precinct and Bacaro Cafe. This event attracts 50-70 attendees per month, and has hosted dozens of readers from beginners to professionals. With support from our sponsors we also offer paid feature performances, run a bi-monthly poetry slam, and sell and promote members’ publications.

Our events provide a central networking hub for writers and word-lovers. We are proud to contribute to the creative community of the Tweed region.
